With only a few days to go on a bike vacation, I got very worried at the train station: "No, the bike only in the bag!" according to them, other solutions, such as cardboard, are not permissible, although on the Trenitalia website it says something a little different... How to remedy this? I found this article, got it right away, tried it out, and was thrilled! For traveling by train (absolutely not by plane!) it is ideal, the bag is very light and carrying it around is no problem. As for the size we are almost there, a bike fits as long as you disassemble at least the front wheel, the seat post and the handlebar bend (all attached to the frame), if there had been ten centimeters more of the bag it would have been better but whatever (after all, the bag was designed to put only the frame, the wheels should be in another case). I read that someone complained about the low strength of the fabric and straps, I had no problems but a distinction must be made: given also the lightness of the product, it is most suitable for a road bike, including wheels, totally inadequate instead for a MTB.

My go to airline touring bag

I've used this for 3 separate airplane bike tours. I've needed a bag that I can carry between airports as I often fly out of a different destination than I arrive. On a tandem tour I even strapped two of these bags together. My experience is that airlines treat lightly packed bikes better than when I've used bike cardboard boxes that are packed neatly. When you do that they just pile suitcases on your bike box. With a bit of clever packing and a few rolls of bubble wrap, this bag is all you need.
